BANK ON IT
The article on
Na Wai ‘Eha [MNKO Vol. 12 No. 4] was a fair and a pretty good article. Mahalo for writing about the “four great waters.” They used to be and some time in the future will be again. As I said, it’s a fight worth fighting.

P.S. You gave me too much credit.
PHOEBE NO KA ‘OI
Thank heavens, Phoebe’s back.
[“Loli Oop,” MNKO Vol. 12 No. 4]
I live in London, and visit Maui as often as possible. I also tune in to
Maui No Ka ‘Oi over the net, as I need a frequent reminder of what I’m missing, living all the way over here! Phoebe is one of my favourites.

HAVE MAGAZINE; WILL TRAVEL
You’re my number one magazine. I’ll be leaving Maui for 10 months for a job opportunity in Santa Barbara, and all my magazines are packed up, not only in my heart, but with my belongings! I find your articles interesting, diverse and respectful to the culture and also find the design very creative and unique. Keep up with the great work!

HE’S A DJ AT PYCC
I visited my daughter and two grandchildren on Maui. My grandson Xander is featured in the article on the Pa‘ia Youth & Culture Center. [
“E=PYC2,” MNKO Vol. 12 No. 4] I was so impressed with your beautiful island that I have subscribed to your marvelous magazine so I can have a little Maui come to me each month. Keep up the good work!

PYCC’S A-OK
I’m amazed and inspired by all that’s going on at the Pa‘ia Youth Center. Congratulations to all who are creating and living this dream hangout for kids.

SUMMATIME?
[In response to “
Liddo Bitta Tita,” MNKO Vol. 12 No. 4]
The kids of today are still the same ol kids; it’s da grownups dat have changed. If you brought home just empty boxes from the store the kids would play with them, so it does not take money to make them happy. Mom goes shopping, Dad goes golfing and the kids are left to find their way. What happened to the ol family trips to the beach? Times change, but the mountains stay the same.

SCOOPED
I have been looking at this home [
“Sandcastle,” MNKO Vol. 12 No. 3] and wishing it was mine. It is a rare find even in the Islands.

THE PICTURE OF SUCCESS
Congratulations! We just read about your national ranking. Bet you’re all pleased as punch. Keep up the great cultural articles and classy design!
